Durham Business School - going up in the world
(26 January 2010)
It has been announced that Durham Business School is in the top twenty business schools in Europe in the latest Financial Times' full time MBA global rankings.
Overall, the school rose six places from 80th to 74th position in the world and up one place to 12th in the UK where it is also one of the top three for value for money. The international reputation of the school was highlighted in a leap to 7th position in the world (up 23 places) in terms of its international student mix.
Commenting on the latest rankings Rob Dixon, Dean of Durham Business School says: “We are delighted to have done so well this year as it demonstrates our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. The increased global profile of the school is highlighted by the fact that 80 per cent of our full-time MBA students come from outside the UK.”
The global list put together by the FT ranked the London Business School as the best place in the world to do an MBA for the second year running, followed by the University of Pennsylvania: Wharton, and Harvard Business School.
semoga kekallah kenangan-kenanganku buat selamanya, seumpama mutiara peristiwa yang teruntai..

Salji dah mula mencair
Aku ingat apa la bau sedap sangat kat bawah tu.....rupanya bini aku buat kek sempena cairnya snow tahun nie...
Kesan snow paling lebat hari Jumaat. Kereta jiran depan rumah.
Salji dah mula mencair, jalan jadi licin. Bila bawak kereta kena guna gear rendah dan jangan sesekali brek mengejut, kalau tak, terbabas la jawabnya. Walaupun dah takder snow, suhu masih sejuk, kalau lama kat luar dan tak pakai sarung tangan, kejap jer dah kebas, tak terasa hujung jari.
Sekarang ni mak kata okay sikit...lega aku. Hari ini dah mula sekolah balik setelah snow leave selama 5 hari. Terlambat pergi sekolah sebab awalnya sekolah kata isnin pun cuti, tapi pagi tadi baru tahu kena pergi sekolah hari ni.
So, apa pendapat aku tentang snow tahun ni?. In conclusion, pengalaman yang sangat menarik dan kami menikmatinya setiap detik seolah tahun depan snow macam ni tak turun lagi. Kata orang Pantai Remis..." Jakun Peeerak Padang Lenga, Tengok Snow Ternganga-Nganga...." Aku ingat kalau print semua gambar time snow nie, tiga album pun tak cukup. Tadi ada Costa Geng call ajak pergi tengok konsert Search ramai-ramai kat Liverpool bulan Februari ni, tiket GBP27.80. Tak pergi nampak sangat anti-sosial, lagipun aku memang minat kumpulan nie masa muda-muda dulu. Tambah pulak, Liverpool belum pernah sampai lagi. So, keputusannya aku join hehehehehhee......... Isabellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....

Berita terkini (7 Januari 2010)
Britain Braces For Coldest Night (7 Januari 2010)
Britain is preparing for the coldest night of the winter so far as the deep freeze gets deeper. Temperatures in parts of the Scottish Highlands, Lancashire, Cheshire and Oxfordshire could fall as low as the minus 20s - as cold as Moscow.
The Met Office has issued widespread warnings, with the conditions already proving lethal. A man's body has been found under ice in a lake at a Surrey country club.
A teenage boy was killed and his mother seriously injured when they were hit by a lorry in North Yorshire late last night.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has also paid tribute to firefighter Gareth Wyn Rees who died after he slipped and banged his head. The North East Ambulance Service says the conditions are putting it under immense pressure. Director of Ambulance operations Paul Liversidge said: "The driving conditions and volume of traffic on the road have made it difficult for our crews to get through to patients, particularly on residential estates."
Forecasters say the country can expect the arctic conditions to continue for another two weeks. Sky's weather presenter Sarah Pennock said: "Ice is still a real problem across the UK and temperatures will just plummet. Most places will struggle to get above freezing even in the afternoon sunshine."
Four thousand homes are without electricity in the south of England after snow brought down power lines. The National Grid has issued another gas balancing alert as supplies are squeezed, but says ordinary consumers are not affected.Sky's Amy Lewis reported from the M3 near Chertsey. She said: "It's very quiet on the roads as motorists appear to be heeding the warnings, but the RAC is still expecting around 11,000 call-outs today."
Some major roads have been affected, with the M275 in Hampshire, the A20 in Kent, the A1(M) in County Durham, and the A2628 in Derbyshire all closed. Motorists in Wales are being warned that conditions on the M4 are particularly poor, and many mountain roads in Scotland are closed.
Sky's Scotland correspondent James Matthews reported from the cut-off village of Pathhead in Scotland. He said: "In the rural areas people are being left largely to fend for themsleves as authorities struggle to keep up with the worsening conditions."
Supermarkets are reporting panic buying as the ice tightens its grip. Many councils warned that their stocks of grit were running low, with councils in Cornwall and Scarborough in North Yorkshire revealing they are using sand from beaches to grit pavements.
North of England correspondent Gerrard Tubb said: "The pavements here are absolutely full of ice. It's so dangerous, but the council can't grit everywhere". John Riby, of Scarborough Council, said: "Unfortunately at the moment I'm afraid demand for salt is outstripping supply, so we're having to prioritise."
Emergency measures to alleviate the gritting crisis were put forward to allow Britain's biggest salt mine Winsford to supply the country day and night. Sky correspondent Michelle May said: "The mine is working flat out 24 hours a day, with 25 lorries an hour leaving to get the salt out to where it's needed. But it is getting harder and harder to keep up."
In repsonse to the salt shortage the Government has activated "Salt Cell", a central group which allows officials to instruct suppliers to send salt where it is most needed. The transport minister Sadiq Khan MP told the House of Commons the Government was doing "everything possible" to keep the roads moving.
On the transport network rail services struggled to return to normal, with many operating revised timetables and suffering delays. The Eurostar is running a restricted service and is telling customers to cancel or postpone their trip if they can. A train broke down in the tunnel and had to be towed to safety just weeks after thousands of passengers were stranded inside the cross-country link because of the bad weather.
Gatwick Airport's runway was reopened on Wednesday night after being shut all day with more than 240 flights cancelled, but bosses warned passengers to expect delays and some travellers were left trapped on landed planes because of the conditions.
Heathrow airport says it has had a similar problem, with passengers on a small number of flights having long waits to get off their planes. British Airways and easyJet have cancelled a number of flights at Heathrow and Gatwick. Many councils shut their shcools, with around 10,000 closed across the country.

Gambar sekitar Middlesbrough dan Dalton Park
Snow belum berakhir.....
Pemandangan dari atas bukit kawasan Dalton Park Outlets, Sunderland
Tinggi sangat bukit ni tapi memang best la time meluncur tu. Aku cuba sekali jer, Along pun sekali sebab memang mencabar terutama bila separuh jalan, susah nak control sledge...
Meluncur dengan keluarga Zariman....
Sekolah Angah dan Cami....
Melawat Tesside University, Middlesbrough
Windmill dekat Hartlepool, on the way to Middlesbrough
Malam tadi kat rumah aku suhu -3 celcius.

Hujan Emas.....Hujan Batu Siri ke-2
Kat akhbar Malaysia semalam. Summer nanti baru cadang nak pegi....
High Force Waterfall, England's largest waterfall
Kat sana: Bayar dulu baru isi minyak kereta
Kat sini: Isi dulu baru masuk bayar kat dalam kedai.....mula-mula confuse gak. kalau brutal isi penuh-penuh blah jer la......hehehehe...tak lama pastu ada la mamat polis ketuk pintu rumah
Kat sana: Isi angin tayar free jer....ada kat semua petrol station
Kat sini: Isi angin pun kena bayar (50 pence untuk 4 minit) tapi kalau kat station minyak milik pasaraya cam Tesco ker free jer (Kat sini pasaraya cam Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury semua ada stesen minyak sendiri.....harga petrol antara stesen minyak tak sama, paling murah milik Tesco, beza 3-4 pence seliter)
Argos, salah satu Hypermarket di sini
Kat sana: Post office untuk urusan pos....
Kat sini: Post office macam bank siap ada currency exchange. Kalau tukar duit, mohon online jer, nanti dicampaknya duit yang ditukar tu dalam sampul surat ke dalam rumah kita ikut lubang pos kat pintu depan....hehehehehe, macam takder harga jer setakat GBP500 tu....apa la depa ni, loglaq betui
Kat sana: Kalau tuan rumah kata nak buat teh....maka teh la yang kita dapat
Kat sini: Kalau tuan rumah (mat saleh) kata nak sediakan teh....maksudnya lunch/dinner
Kat sana: Konsep cash back dan online diskaun belum meluas
Contohnya, tukar duit kat Post Office tak pasal-pasal masuk akaun GBP3 sebagai cash back. Tapi kena tunggu 3 bulan la. Hari tu beli insuran kereta dapat balik cashback GBP80. Pendek kata asal saja urusan tu melibatkan online mesti ada cash back dan diskaun.
Kat sana: Banyak urusan kalau nak beli kereta
Kat sini: Anak kecil pun kira satu seat......tu yang malas nak suruh bini aku beranak, kang kena beli MPV lak....
Kat sana: Beli barang bila dah guna payah nak tukar balik
Kat sini: Beli barang macam baju ker, TV ker....guna la dulu 2 minggu ker pastu pi la tukar balik.
Kat sana: Kurang berdisplin bawak kereta terutama time jem
Kat sini: Terlebih displin, kadang-kadang naik menyampah aku. Ader ker jem kadang sampai 50 meter lorong kiri, tapi lorong sebelah tu kosong jer, cumanya hujung jalan nanti kena cilok kekiri balik la, tapi masalahnya takder pulak yang nak cilok.
Kat sini: Klinik tempat lain, farmasi tempat lain. Satu lagi punya la susah nak dapat antibiotik, demam dah seminggu baru dia bagi. Antibodi konon...tah-tah kedekut
Panjang dah ni.....nak nak baca buku lak. Alamak, cerita best pulak kat Channel five USA, camner nie? ala.....baca buku tu bebila pun boleh!
